This policy describes the terms and conditions governing the booking, cancellation, rescheduling, and refund of a appointment. By confirming a booking, the customer acknowledges that they have read and understood these terms and conditions.
Details and scope of the reserved service
The reservation is for a commissioner for oaths service remotely by videoconference. When the applicable conditions are met, the commissioner receives the oath or solemn affirmation from the declarant, signs the section reserved for the commissioner for oaths, and returns the document electronically.
The service does not include drafting the document, legal advice, notarization of certified copies, or validation of the declaration's content.
Before making a reservation, the customer must verify that their document can be processed remotely and that the receiving organization accepts this procedure.
Price Details
The total price applicable to the chosen service is displayed before booking confirmation. The price includes:
- Oath fee: $5 per oath.
- Online service fees: The remaining balance covers separate administrative and technology services related to booking and delivering the remote service, including appointment scheduling, administrative preparation, the electronic receipt and processing of the document, the use of videoconferencing and electronic signature platforms, and the electronic delivery of the completed document.
The number of documents, including déclarants and serments, the total price, and the payment terms are listed in before payment is made.
Essential conditions for service delivery
Provision of the service remains contingent upon compliance with the applicable requirements, including the presence of the declarant, its ability to freely express its will, the presentation of a valid document and an acceptable id, and the proper functioning of the videoconference.
The commissioner may refuse to proceed or may suspend the hearing if he or she is unable to administer the oath in accordance with the applicable rules, particularly if the document is inadequate, if the conditions of remote swearing-in cannot be met, or if the integrity or confidentiality of the communication cannot be ensured.
